Books

I have been an avid reader since I first learned how (assuming avid means “does it lots” and not anything to do with birds). I’d say my reading tastes are diverse but name a book and I probably haven’t read it because that’s what happens when you tell someone to name a book just so you can show off how much you read. I like classic adventures from Jules Verne and J.R.R. Tolkien, modern fiction like Ken Follet and Irvine Welsh, and series filed in the “young readers” section that grown-ups are totally all over, like The Five Ancestors and Harry Potter.

However, a picture is worth a thousand words (or to be mathematically concise and metrically accurate 1p = 1kw, kw meaning kiloword, not kilowatt because books don’t use electrical power…duh. Except ebooks, they do, so, duh on me) hence I very much enjoy reading books that include pictures. From the children’s books of Dr.Seuss and Maurice Sendak to comic books like Mouse Guard and Usagi Yojimbo, and almost any work where the inside cover is a map of a fictional place or gamma rays unleash the awesome potential within some nerd.

Here are the books I’ve written:

The Pug Watcher’s Guidebook

pug watchers guidebook

The world is full of pugs if one just knows where to look. The Pug Watcher’s Guidebook is an encyclopedia, of sorts, containing illustrated entries regarding the various pug species to be found near and far. Journey through time, sort through mythologies, and keep your notebook handy: You never know what type of pug you might see next!

The Great Tree

the great tree

Gnomes, sprites, spiders, squirrels, bats, the Great Cat, the Great Bird and even a princess (The Spider Princess, that is), make their homes at the Great Tree. In spite of their differences the creatures of the Great Tree get along fairly well…until the pony arrives. Everyone makes their own plans for the new arrival without consulting each other. Does the biggest tree in the Old Forest have enough room for everyone when they can’t agree?

Meet a unique cast of characters in this illustrated storybook for young children.
